Do you think you are healthy?

In the United States, one third of the population is diabetic or have symptoms of diabetes. Heart disease, cancers and other diseases come from bad lifestyle habits such as eating disorders, smoking, and stress related to lifestyle habits. Eating disorders are especially the cause of many kinds of illnesses related with becoming overweight. How about your eating habits?

Do you have a good balance of meals every day? According to AICR (American Institute for Cancer Research), you should take in small amounts of salt, sugar, and oil (fat), 2/3 unpolished grains, vegetables and vegetable products. In addition, take in "no less than" 1/3 of meats or meat products. This protects you from cancers and other illnesses. In Japan, where people have the longest life expectancy in the world, they try to take in at least 30 kinds of different foods a day with a variety of side dishes without eating too much. In today's busy society, having well balanced meals is so important. When you look around, you can see that there are salty and greasy foods such as junk foods, though salads which you may think are healthy are high in cholesterol due to mayonnaise and dressings. In having a good balanced meal, you should combine as many foods or ingredients as possible and prepare by hand. This takes time, so for busy New Yorkers, this is hard. Luckily, we distribute such good balanced meals as a lunch box style "Bento Box".

Former New York Mandarin Oriental Hotel Japanese Chef Okuda thinks about your health and good quality nutrition. He prepares two kinds of bento all by hand, every morning so you have the right amount of protein, healthy fat, lots of fiber, vitamins and minerals. If you wish to remain healthy and more beautiful inside out, why don't you check your "Eating Style" again?
